Given the popularity of wine stabiization by the method of ionic exchange of resin, CheckStab Instruments has designed an apparatus for the laboratory to test the effecveness of treatment with resin. The apparatus, called β2014 WRT carries out a resin treatment by using a small quantity of wine. Subsequently, the technician can verify by using a CheckStab Instrument to test tartaric stability, to see if the percent of wine used in this tratment is sufficient to render the wine stable, therfore ready to bottle and put on the market or if necessary increase the percentage of wine necessary for treatment. Utilizing a higher percentage of wine than necessary can lead to an impoveishment of wine with a loss of organoleptic characteristics of the product and a waste of time and energy.
